The first scenes
We began filming the first few scenes for our films yesterday. These few scenes are very important because they will be giving our audience a good idea of how the main character acts in school. The type of person he is and how responsible and resourceful he could be. These scenes are revolved around the average student's day after the start of covid. This is why the scene starts with an alarm to alert him to go into his virtual classroom. We tried to make it as realistic as possible. We have to fake a zoom call meeting and make all our actors join. We also have to get the lighting correct because some of us primarily use LED lights and that doesn't provide us with the correct amount of lighting for the film. The different angles were also challenging for us to complete. Being that we have to make the camera angles look natural. It should look as if the sun just came up so we have to try to either get the shot in the morning or try to recreate the lighting in a different way. Also because we are not using real cameras and using our phones instead. In order to work around this we had to move around furniture and place the phone on top of that to capture the scenes. This allows us to get the high angles. We had to refilm a couple of times because the actors kept forgetting and messing up their lines, so we had to send them another copy of the script. We also had to refilm because some of the takes came out shakey, so it was unusable. We also didn't have great audio. We had to refilm geting closer to a microphone or do a voiceover. Overall, the filming came out to a success. We just had to send them to each other to start our film.
