journey you have taken as a This film was a lot of fun to film. Even though we had a bumpy road through the end of it I would still like to do something like this once again. Probably something on a larger scale than two minutes. During the start of this film, I wasn't too keen on details, but as we continued I began becoming more and more invested in it. I have learned so many new things. Things like how to block out wind and other noise, and how to use the noise to our advantage. The only thing I dislike and wish we could've to fix was how choppy some of the scenes transition fits. Somethings that I like is the time and dedication that was put into something like this. A career that I feel like I could pursue now is like an editor or a director. On the other hand, I would try to stay away from being a cameraman.

Finale: The Understanding

Image
This is our final project. It took some time to compile all of our footage into a two-minute film, but with enough time and dedication, we managed to pull it off. It may not be our best work, but it won't be our last. We will slowly continue getting better and better after each film we create until we are satisfied. We hope that you enjoy the little film we created called "The Understanding". We made the film to give a little inside of what the life of a high school student is like. All the stress and the anxiety one may go through because of school, work, and any other activities.

The backup

When we were looking through our footage we realized that some of our outside scenes were a bit grey. All the clouds were blocking out the sunlight which caused us to try and use different filters to try and add more colors to the scene rather than letting it look bland and greyish. Another problem we saw/heard when we replayed our footage was the wind. The wind was blowing quite hard, hard enough that we could barely hear the actors speak. We had to reshoot those scenes because the other scenes became unusable. The cameraman had to film on the opposite side of where the wind was blowing to try and block out as much wind as possible. Another problem we faced was the cars and people. We were filming at a park so a lot of people were, so we tried to talk as loudly as possible to try and drown them out. We were able to drown them out, but we were still able to hear them in the film. It was okay because it just made the film look and sound more realistic. It would be weird to be in a publ

Editing the clips

Image
We already began sending all the clips to each other and slightly editing them. We also added some music to the background. We had an issue choosing what song to choose seeing as how they were hundreds of songs to pick from. We had to choose a song that would correlate with all the different scenes and moods that are being conveyed in our film. We had to crop all the scenes because some of the frames were either too big or too little. We also have to shorten some of the clips. Some of the clips when added all together they were too long for the two-minute time limit. Knowing that my partner cropped some of the beginnings of each scene to try and meet the requirement. In the day it took to begin editing the clips we had to reconsidered taking more takes and which shots to reconsider this time around. My partner and I had to discuss which scenes should we keep and which ones that wasn't feeling right. As we continued watching the clips we saw that some of them had some good parts to

Planning: Refilm

Image
As we begin wrapping up the last of our film. We had to look through all our footage. We checked for any errors or things we could've improved. We found some mistakes, so we tried to refilm it to match up with the film.  We searched through all the takes we took of each scene and sent them into one specific place. We did this so we both could have access to our films if any of us need them. We called each other so that we can go through the videos together. We discussed what videos should we keep and which ones we should refilm. The others we believe we didn't need to include, so we delete them. We then sent the videos again in a separate group chat. After this, we went back to filming. We refilmed scenes three, six, eight, and ten. For scene three I thought the audio was a bit mumble and we couldn't hear the characters too well. We refilmed and tried to get the microphone closer to pick up the character voices much clearer than what we had beforehand. For scene six my part

Working

Image
After we finished filming the scene when he is talking to his find about the practice and the big game the next day. The main character gets a call from his boss from work, and the boss asks him can he come in. He tries to tell them that he's a little busy. Before he could finish speaking he is cut off and begged to come in. As he wants to please everyone to the best of his ability he finally gives in.  During these scenes, we get to see more of the character's attitude. As we have seen in the basketball scene and in this scene the main character has a very hard time saying "no" or speaking up for himself. Even though it may affect him and some ways. As the basketball may inflict how good his work will come out for class. Also, how going to work may inflict how long he can practice. All of these activities will eventually catch up to him and begin to wear him down.  There were a few problems when we were working on the scene. One of the problems was how were we going

The first scenes

Image
We began filming the first few scenes for our films yesterday. These few scenes are very important because they will be giving our audience a good idea of how the main character acts in school. The type of person he is and how responsible and resourceful he could be. These scenes are revolved around the average student's day after the start of covid. This is why the scene starts with an alarm to alert him to go into his virtual classroom. We tried to make it as realistic as possible. We have to fake a zoom call meeting and make all our actors join. We also have to get the lighting correct because some of us primarily use LED lights and that doesn't provide us with the correct amount of lighting for the film. The different angles were also challenging for us to complete. Being that we have to make the camera angles look natural. It should look as if the sun just came up so we have to try to either get the shot in the morning or try to recreate the lighting in a different way. A
