Beginning Scenes

 My partner and I began filming on the scheduled date. We tried to begin filming beforehand, but then we had to worry about our testing, school, and personal business. As seen in the storyboard the first couple of scenes takes place in my room, so I called it up and made it presentable for the film. I had to find a place to put the camera so that it would be able to capture the whole scene. The scene including me, my phone, and my computer. This scene is supposed to be of the main character waking up ad getting prepared for school. 

As we continued filming we had to discuss what are the extra characters going to do. My partner asked to make sure my room was spot clean during filming so that we can emphasize a point that the watchers will later see in the project. The main character is supposed to be seen as a happy go-getter. As he tries to answer the teachers' questions when no one else will respond to them.  Showing the character this happy and energetic and then slowly understanding the stress and the time put into the real world in order to make it.

The props will include a phone, computer, and an alarm. The costume will be some casual sleepwear, clothes that people wear while sleeping. We will also try to edit some non-diegetic sounds with the first few scenes if possible. Only if it helps and fits within the scene itself. We will be using sounds/music from the royalty-free music site. We will try to add some music that we think fits. We brainstormed it maybe being something as a song that gives a happy vibe or something like a neutral vibe. Some problems we expect to encounter are a family making noise or walking in the filming. We will have to film the scene multiple times to ensure that we did it well enough with little to no noise, and a relatively close as we can get it.

 When we were looking through our footage we realized that some of our outside scenes were a bit grey. All the clouds were blocking out the sunlight which caused us to try and use different filters to try and add more colors to the scene rather than letting it look bland and greyish. Another problem we saw/heard when we replayed our footage was the wind. The wind was blowing quite hard, hard enough that we could barely hear the actors speak. We had to reshoot those scenes because the other scenes became unusable. The cameraman had to film on the opposite side of where the wind was blowing to try and block out as much wind as possible. Another problem we faced was the cars and people. We were filming at a park so a lot of people were, so we tried to talk as loudly as possible to try and drown them out. Genre research Drama

  In this powerpoint, we were assigned to research a specific genre and analyze the specific conventions and to recognize what makes this genre different than others. To begin, in the drama genre, the different types of lighting used where low key lighting and high key lighting, usually to show the mood in the scene. Common angles included, but were not limited too, low angles, with common movement being reverse zoom, and tracking. Conventionally, costumes depended on the setting. While a drama filmed in the colonial period would likely depict women with dresses while a more modern drama would likely depict women with jeans and a tee. Genre Discussion

 For the past couple of days, my partner and I have been discussing what genre should we do. We couldn't choose right away at first because we had to discuss the pros and the cons of each genre. We had to choose out of thriller, drama, and action. (3) The first genre we had was the drama genre. The drama has  stories with high stakes and a lot of conflicts. They're plot-driven and demand that every character and scene move the story forward. We  both worked on this genre when we had the genre project, so we both had some knowledge about it. The pros of this genre are that we had the basics of it down, so the research could be kept to a minimum. This genre best fits the pitch that we choose in our earlier discussion. The cons of this genre are that some of the common things found in drama we might not be able to recreate. Things like costumes or have makeup.
