CCR: Music Video

1. How does your product use or challenge convention and how does it represent social groups or issues?

Bethoven and I product use the convention of how music videos typically tell a story within the music and the video helps express the lyrics in a way that others may understand. Usually having a protagonist facing some kind of hardship. Hardships such as a break-up, a loss of a loved one, or depression. While the protagonist wasn't always like that the antagonist is shown and explains how did the protagonist end up becoming this way. The antagonist could be an event that happened or a person that did something to the protagonist. The music video help deliver the message to all who watch it. Bethoven and I tried our best to use the conventions to help produce our video.

Our product represents social groups and issues because we tried to use a common issue for many different groups of people. We choose to base our video around the social issue of bullying. In the video we tried to represent the three social groups of someone who is seen as "weak" and "timid", "strong" and "aggressive", and "passionate" and "supportive". The video helped represent the issue that should be known in today's society. As well as how to go about it if you see it happening even if there are multiple ways to stop this type of situation.

2.How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Our product engages with audiences by conveying their emotions. The emotions of empathy, sadness, relief, and joy. We used filters to help convey a sad background that could potentially engage with the audience.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout his project?

My production skills have developed throughout this project because of the new elements that I was exposed to. In my last project, all I had to do was take pictures and compile them together. Unlike that one I was physically in this one and had to add the element of acting. When we were filming producing was much harder than any of us had initially expected. As we continued filming we began to understand some of the thought processes of what regular producers have to go through. As if the scene looks good, what more could we do to help convey the thought being the scene, will understand this. Giving me more experience in helping develop my production skills.

4. How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware, and online - in this project?

We integrated technologies by using our phones and laptops to help capture the film. We also used them to communicate if we were unable to meet in person. Then we had to use online to send the unfinished videos and clips to each other. We then switch to editing software to fix up the clips. Making them look less choppy and smooth as a regular music video might look. While also using it to add the music in the background.
