planning for my music video

     The song title that my partner and I are doing is 'losses' by Lil Tjay. Lil Tjay is a young rapper born in 2001. His real name is Tione Jayden Merritt. He has a record label to Columbia Records. As a rapper at a young age, we can relate to what is being said in his song 'losses'. As we all lose something in life and want to be an influence to those who also went through a loss. Want the people to know it is okay to talk about it.

        The costumes that the actors will wear is some casual clothing. That being hoodies, jeans, joggers, sneakers, sandals, t-shirts, etc. Props that will be in the music video are phones, book bags, or something that helps convey a conflict for the protagonist.

  • Editing: December 7th
  • Music video: December 8th

The location of the video will switch between in an outside environment. Like the store, park, or somewhere where people hang out. Another location will be at a house in a room.

The backup plan is if my partner or I can't film or edit the other will pick up where they left off. As we don't know if something may come up and they become busy all of a sudden. After they're done they will do another share of the work, so neither is doing an unfair amount of work. We will also share clips and recordings with each other to download and make copies. This will help as a failsafe if something were to get deleted or lost. We can also recover it and resume the video without losing much time, and without restarting.

 When we were looking through our footage we realized that some of our outside scenes were a bit grey. All the clouds were blocking out the sunlight which caused us to try and use different filters to try and add more colors to the scene rather than letting it look bland and greyish. Another problem we saw/heard when we replayed our footage was the wind. The wind was blowing quite hard, hard enough that we could barely hear the actors speak. We had to reshoot those scenes because the other scenes became unusable. The cameraman had to film on the opposite side of where the wind was blowing to try and block out as much wind as possible. Another problem we faced was the cars and people. We were filming at a park so a lot of people were, so we tried to talk as loudly as possible to try and drown them out. Genre research Drama

  In this powerpoint, we were assigned to research a specific genre and analyze the specific conventions and to recognize what makes this genre different than others. To begin, in the drama genre, the different types of lighting used where low key lighting and high key lighting, usually to show the mood in the scene. Common angles included, but were not limited too, low angles, with common movement being reverse zoom, and tracking. Conventionally, costumes depended on the setting. While a drama filmed in the colonial period would likely depict women with dresses while a more modern drama would likely depict women with jeans and a tee. Genre Discussion

 For the past couple of days, my partner and I have been discussing what genre should we do. We couldn't choose right away at first because we had to discuss the pros and the cons of each genre. We had to choose out of thriller, drama, and action. (3) The first genre we had was the drama genre. The drama has  stories with high stakes and a lot of conflicts. They're plot-driven and demand that every character and scene move the story forward. We  both worked on this genre when we had the genre project, so we both had some knowledge about it. The pros of this genre are that we had the basics of it down, so the research could be kept to a minimum. This genre best fits the pitch that we choose in our earlier discussion.
