Planning for my PlayStation 4 commercial

 Props:

Since I'm doing a PlayStation commercial, my main props will be the PlayStation itself, controllers, and games. 

Costumes:

Since it's a PlayStation commercial the actors will be in normal clothing. Like pajamas, sweat pants, or other casual clothing.

Schedule:

On 10/22/20, I'll research conventions and codes of the PlayStation commercial.

On 10/23/20, I'll establish the props, costumes, schedule, location list, and a backup plan

On 10/26/20, I'll create a storyboard for the 30 second commercial

On 10/27-29/20, I'll film and record the necessary shots for my commercial

On 11/2/20, I'll edit and add the final touches to the commercial

Location List:

My main location will be in a bedroom. I'll be filming  the actors playing the system, and the system itself having fun. This will help us show the entertainment of the system the main purpose of the system.

Backup Plan:

Since I'm film inside there's no need for a backup plan, but in case i am unable to film or upload. I'll have backup videos or clips stored someone.

 When we were looking through our footage we realized that some of our outside scenes were a bit grey. All the clouds were blocking out the sunlight which caused us to try and use different filters to try and add more colors to the scene rather than letting it look bland and greyish. Another problem we saw/heard when we replayed our footage was the wind. The wind was blowing quite hard, hard enough that we could barely hear the actors speak. We had to reshoot those scenes because the other scenes became unusable. The cameraman had to film on the opposite side of where the wind was blowing to try and block out as much wind as possible. Another problem we faced was the cars and people. We were filming at a park so a lot of people were, so we tried to talk as loudly as possible to try and drown them out. Genre research Drama

  In this powerpoint, we were assigned to research a specific genre and analyze the specific conventions and to recognize what makes this genre different than others. To begin, in the drama genre, the different types of lighting used where low key lighting and high key lighting, usually to show the mood in the scene. Common angles included, but were not limited too, low angles, with common movement being reverse zoom, and tracking. Conventionally, costumes depended on the setting. While a drama filmed in the colonial period would likely depict women with dresses while a more modern drama would likely depict women with jeans and a tee. Genre Discussion

 For the past couple of days, my partner and I have been discussing what genre should we do. We couldn't choose right away at first because we had to discuss the pros and the cons of each genre. We had to choose out of thriller, drama, and action. (3) The first genre we had was the drama genre. The drama has  stories with high stakes and a lot of conflicts. They're plot-driven and demand that every character and scene move the story forward. We  both worked on this genre when we had the genre project, so we both had some knowledge about it. The pros of this genre are that we had the basics of it down, so the research could be kept to a minimum. This genre best fits the pitch that we choose in our earlier discussion. The cons of this genre are that some of the common things found in drama we might not be able to recreate. Things like costumes or have makeup.
