Introduction blog


 Hey, this is Cleveland Williams and today I will be introducing myself to you. As I mentioned my name is Cleveland Williams and I was born January 30,2003. I'm in the 11th grade and I go to Fort Lauderdale High school, and I'm writing this to blog about my class Aice Media studies. I'm taking this class so I can work closer towards my Aice diploma. As a student, I would say I try my best. I always try to complete my assignments before they're due and start some of the assignments that aren't due yet. After school I work at a fast-food restaurant named Burger King I'm a cook, but I'm also slowly learning how to work as a cashier. As a cook, I work in the back make the food, cook it, clean, and do the dishes. Outside of school and work, I'm quite a shy person I find it very hard to talk to new people or to talk in front of people, but once someone gets to know me I can be quite fun. I also am a goofy person also making jokes, and even though I'm a quiet person I don't like it when a room is completely quiet. I like to have some music or something playing or it will start getting hard for me to completely focus. In my free time, I like to read, exercise, hang out with friends, or watch television. I like the Michael Vey: Prisoner of cell 25 series and some manga. I exercise at my local Planet Fitness. I live with my 3 uncles, an aunt, and my sister. I am adopted with a twist on it, and the twist is I'm adopted into the same family. I like to come up with ideas, so I want to become an engineer. I am a fan of heroes, so I like the marvel and dc universe. I also like animals, I like animals so much that about 2 years ago I volunteer at an animal shelter. Even though most of the time I clean their cages of feces and urine it was still a fun experience. I also have a giant sweet tooth and have been snacking on sweets for years, but still have never had a cavity. I'm also pretty unnoticeable like I'm some sort of ninja. I've been able to go unnoticed by kids and adults alike since I don't talk much and wear all black a lot.

 When we were looking through our footage we realized that some of our outside scenes were a bit grey. All the clouds were blocking out the sunlight which caused us to try and use different filters to try and add more colors to the scene rather than letting it look bland and greyish. Another problem we saw/heard when we replayed our footage was the wind. The wind was blowing quite hard, hard enough that we could barely hear the actors speak. We had to reshoot those scenes because the other scenes became unusable. The cameraman had to film on the opposite side of where the wind was blowing to try and block out as much wind as possible. Another problem we faced was the cars and people. We were filming at a park so a lot of people were, so we tried to talk as loudly as possible to try and drown them out. Genre research Drama

  In this powerpoint, we were assigned to research a specific genre and analyze the specific conventions and to recognize what makes this genre different than others. To begin, in the drama genre, the different types of lighting used where low key lighting and high key lighting, usually to show the mood in the scene. Common angles included, but were not limited too, low angles, with common movement being reverse zoom, and tracking. Conventionally, costumes depended on the setting. While a drama filmed in the colonial period would likely depict women with dresses while a more modern drama would likely depict women with jeans and a tee. Genre Discussion

 For the past couple of days, my partner and I have been discussing what genre should we do. We couldn't choose right away at first because we had to discuss the pros and the cons of each genre. We had to choose out of thriller, drama, and action. (3) The first genre we had was the drama genre. The drama has  stories with high stakes and a lot of conflicts. They're plot-driven and demand that every character and scene move the story forward. We  both worked on this genre when we had the genre project, so we both had some knowledge about it. The pros of this genre are that we had the basics of it down, so the research could be kept to a minimum. This genre best fits the pitch that we choose in our earlier discussion. The cons of this genre are that some of the common things found in drama we might not be able to recreate. Things like costumes or have makeup.
